Andrew Humphries

Andrew has exceptional breadth and depth in the luxury hospitality industry, on both the ownership and operator sides. He currently works with Boston Consulting as an external advisor. Prior to that Andrew headed up, initially as COO and then as CEO (Acting), Katara Hospitality in Doha, Qatar – owners and asset managers of some of the most iconic hotels in the world, including Raffles Singapore, The Plaza in New York, The Savoy in London, the Burgenstock Resort in Luzern, The Peninsula in Paris and The Carlton in Cannes.

Prior to that Andrew was RVP for Viceroy Hotels, based in Abu Dhabi and was previously with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts for 17 years, as RVP in the Middle East and ultimately as RVP for the Caribbean and Florida. During his time with Katara Hospitality, as well as asset managing the global portfolio, he was directly involved with the World Cup 2022, readying and opening 13 hotels in Qatar as well as enabling 65,000 real estate units for fan accommodation.

Jan Kirstein

Jan has extensive experience in upscale and luxury hotels across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. His deep operational knowledge and cultural adaptability enable him to understand the diverse demands placed on a skilled General Manager in various environments. His career includes 28 years with ITT Sheraton/Starwood of which 15 years were in various GM roles, two years as Area GM with Anantara, a luxury brand of Minor Hotels and five years as VP Asset Management with Gaw Capital Partners Hospitality (GCPH) —giving him a well-rounded perspective on the GM/Owner relationship.

Following his role with GCPH in Bangkok, Jan has served as an advisor for hotels in the Nordic countries. In addition to his operational expertise, Jan has a strong background in sales and marketing. Drawing on his 40 years as an international hotelier, he authored  “What They Don’t Teach You at Hotel Schools” published in June 2024.
